How to Begin Beekeeping

If you have ever wondered about beekeeping, or are ready to take the plunge, you've come to the right place.

Here at Long Lane Honey Bee Farms, our specialty is beginning hobbyists.  Many of our hobbyists do turn their hobby into a craft and go in to the business of beekeeping, and we are prepared to help them too with advance classes, queen rearing classes and all the equipment and supplies that entails.

Here at Long Lane Honey Bee Farms, we do business differently than the big-box bee supply companies.  We are striving to be a small, sustainable family farm--we are different because this is an actual bee farm.  We don't spend our days behind big mahogany desks watching the money roll in (nothing wrong with that--just not our focus).  We spend our days keeping bees, so we know what we're talking about.

We like to talk and meet our customers --get a feel for what you are looking to do--than just send you a big glossy catalog that confuses you and leaves you to be in your own muttering madness.  We want to know what you're thinking, where you want to go, what you want to do--so we can understand how to help.

Go to www.honeybeesonline.com and click on "lessons"--that will get you started.  Read your way through our 100+ lessons on how to keep bees.  Then when the time comes, you can order anything you want, or call us to ask about getting certain equipment.  We'll mentor you through all this.
